It's a very nice, light lens for the price. Relatively fast. You need to determine whether the focal length is right for you, if this will be your only lens. One way to do that would be to go out a few times with your current lens and leave it at 42mm the whole time. Then realize the 45mm will be slightly 'longer.' It's a bit long for an all-rounder lens, but if you find you're comfortable always working at 42mm with your current lens, you'll probably be OK.

I think most people would want a shorter lens for an all-rounder, though.
