X-E1: Viewfinder is horrible and kit zoom is heavy, but then ...

The 18-55/2.8-4 weighs 310gms.  Just to put that in perspective, that's more than Nikon's consumer grade 18-55 /3.5-5.6 VR which weighs 265gms, but then the Fuji is all metal and a lot faster.  And by comparison with the Fuji primes, it's the same as the weight of the 18mm and 35mm together.

Total XE1 weight with battery and zoom is 660gms

Opinion (not a fact) - that's not a heavy lens or camera.  I think we'll cope.
