LOL, i love the us and them thing that gets people to bite.

In terms of eos sharp zooms, there are few who can fault the 70-200 (2.8 or 4 versions) or similar.  Probably the sharpest lens bar none(including primes) i have used.

I have been a Canon shooter for over 15 years but am abandoning it cause i hate the size and weight if the system and can see that mirrored systems have their day cause of the issue they cause for liveview/video af etc.   So cant really be accused of eos/m43 snobbery

I really couldnt care which brand i use but i would like to see more premium zoom lens for m43.  It sort of defeats the purpose for me if i need 3 lens to do the job that one eos zoom did extremely well.

The other thing is given the sensor size it would seem that you would need at least a stop or so faster to achieve the same effects so in that context the zooms available with one noteable exception for M43 are really slow/not narrow dof.

like someone pointed out you can get really cheap and really fast prime (non L) for eos that do a really good job for mucking around with shallow depth of field.  eg 40mm or 50mm

The challenge for me is to find a really compact sharp wide (24mm eq) zoom (not necessary super fast) and something super fast that isnt outrageously expensive.

I will be buying a M43 camera i expect.  probably a GX2 (if it ever comes) and would like the 12-35 as it is the only mid range zoom that goes to 24mm eq. and is of premium quality.  i hoped to be able to live with the 14-42 pz as it is promoted as an X (premium glass) lens but the more i read about it the more i expect it wont live up to expectations.
