Is that so? That is not the impression I get from the lens reviews on LensRentals.com. To quote Roger Cicala, "Zooms, even the best zooms, are not quite as good as primes of equal quality."
For example, Canon's new little 40mm 2.8 for $150 is sharper than the Canon 24-70 2.8L which is ... more. A lot more, like ten times pricier.

There are a number of Eos L Series Zooms that are benchmark for sharpness.
If you mean benchmark for zooms, that makes sense. If you mean they're a benchmark because they're nearly as sharp as prime lenses, sure. I'm pretty sure that Canon's 50mm 1.4 non-L is a sharp as their 24-70L.
There are clearly some very high quality m43 lens but still a fair bit of zoom snobbery in the m43 world.
What I hear is Canon L snobbery... hard to believe, I know!
Do you think the average m43 user could actually tell any difference in most cases. like for like.
As easily or poorly as the average Canon user, sure.
That said i am lusting the 12-35 f2.8
So buy it?
