T3i, 18-55mm, 55-250mm: Will This Package Be Good For Me?

You will love it, it will give you higher quality photos than the sx40 [I know, I have both].

I was just looking for a Black Friday post suggesting the T3i+18-55+55-250 for my neice. And she is jumping from the smaller digital cameras. You will have no problem either. I used to hang out in the sony forum with my V1 [a smaller version of the 717]. They were both very sharp for their time. Moving to the canon Rebel 7 years ago was easier than I thought, and the quality and joy [including focus speed] of a dslr leaves no regrets. I now lug some heavy gear, and if I can do it anyone can.  Good luck!
