When you say that you order the stuff on the WWW, I assume that means that the merchandise is being shipped from outside of Germany, correct?

This is the difference between the EU and the US, the US is so large and has so many consumers that most of what you need can be found within the US itself.

Probably much easier to purchase the item yourself online than have to wait for the item to arrive at a local store.
