I agree with you, it's probably the best kit lens ever!

This lens seems to as good as the original version of the Tamron 17-50mm f2.8 that I have owned back in the days when I had my Nikon cameras.  And it's a huge statement because I think that the Tamron was every bit as good as the Nikon 17-55mm f.2.8!
