Hi Gina. Welcome back to The World!

R2!!!! How are you!? Yes, I totally remember you, so glad to see you are still here!

As a former F717 shooter myself, I think I know exactly where you're coming from! BTW, one of my favorite shots of yours is this Robin...

You have a really nice eye for composition, and I think any camera in your hands will be fully capable of producing wonderful photos. Just IMO.

Oh, thank you so much That robin was one of my first shots with the F717.

It's a great starter outfit. I have the T4i with those two lenses, and the combo is very very capable. You'll need a close up lens to do true Macros though, but "close ups" will work fine. You'll also be a little challenged for reach out at 20', but maybe you can work in a little closer. 18 MP will also give you a LOT more room to crop than you're used to.

Thanks for your input, I really appreciate it. Yes, I would be looking forward to the 18 MP to work with LOL. I actually went forward with a 828 after my 717 but it was sooo heavy and I just didn't love it as much as my 717. Its time to move on though, even if it's not a dslr. However, I don't know if I could ever sell it either It's a sentimental thing. I can see that my expectation of the lenses is a bit over-reaching. I will probably have to go to a camera store and actually handle everything to completely understand.

Sorry, I don't have much time at the moment to provide more detail, but I do have samples from various cameras and lenses (incl some f717 pics!) in my galleries. EXIF is intact and I note what equipment was used...

Well good luck, and I'm glad to see you around.

I will certainly look at your shots more later and ask a few questions. So nice to "see" you again
