World Camera Day
In 2010, November 17 was declared as 'World Camera Day' by the Photography Club of Nangal(Punjab,India). Today, November 17 was again celebrated in Nangal as 'World Camera Day' with great at enthusiasm . To celebrate this day a large number of eminent personalities, professional and amateur photographers from Nangal and surrounding towns held a meeting in Forest guest house. In this meeting the inventors and developers of camera were remembers .The speakers in the meeting discussed the importance of cameras in our daily life, in medical and other sciences and in various other fields. On this occasions a small exhibition of old cameras and photography was held. The members again took a pledge to cerebrate November 17 as 'World Camera Day' every year. This day falls on the eve of Louis Daguerre's birthday. Louis-Jacques-Mandé Daguerre (November 18, 1787 - July 10, 1851) was a French artist and physicist who produced world's first permanent image by his camera that did not fade and needed under thirty minutes of light exposure.
