It's not RAW *or* JPEG. It's JPEG *and* RAW, with RAW being used when needed. And I think I made it clear that I shoot everything RAW+JPEG, so I have the RAW available just in case.

Just in case of what? I use RAW on every shot and never bother with in camera jpgs. It is really easy to do better than in camera jpgs about 99% of the time providing you know how to PP RAW. If you only do RAW occasionally then you are better off sticking with in camera jpgs.
