PC for $500-$750...... ?

Thank you guys.

I put the same question in the Pentax SLR forum. It was sugested that I could build my own computer for that kind of money and it could be much better for my application.

Any thought on that ?

I never done anything like that, how hard or easy is it for a novice ?

Where would I go for help ? And for parts ?
