Hi zs7guy... actually we don't usually need a tripod for a fully zoomed FZ00, it has an amazing Image Stabilization system, it's the Canon SX50 zoomed out to 1200mm that has the stabilization problem.

FZ200 VS SX40/50 .....
FZ200 look attrective because of 2.8 till 600 mm. I have confusuion for what to buy finally decided for SX50 due to 1200mm for bird photography. So reach bird , am happy with pics

SX50 is not good for sports / flying bird etc . But over all good for bird photography
Am sure one will not go wrong with either of them , it depend on need.
I feel FZ200 seems to be all rounder ( with 2.8 till 600mm) , but for static subject / slightly move ...but hard to catch all flip of bird wings ( like my Nikon D7000 )
Am using combo of D7000 + SX50 for bird photography and happy
at long zoom Frame Asist help for composition , latter i release and take pics.
