Weight: system more important than sensor size?

"Equivalence" limited to the theoretical observation that two holes collect an equal amount of light is fine. Trying to understand the properties of one system as implemented in actual reality by converting them to the properties of another system as implemented in actual reality is a futile waste of time because a) it is much easier to skip that detour and b) it doesn't work anyway.
