I followed your thread closely and was amazed at the passionate opinions of RAW shooters. I quickly realized their photography goals were different than mine. I love to take pictures and share them with family and friends, but have never thought of photography as an art from and I've never been interested in posting my pictures for others to critique.

However, the strong opinions expressed by RAW shooters prompted me to try RAW so I began to shoot RAW plus JPEG and process with AfterShot. In only a few cases, was I able to achieve results slightly better than JPEGs from my a65. In most cases, they were not nearly as good. I certainly have no quarrel with those that want to put the RAW process into their photography, but I don't think it's for me. Before I throw in the towel, I will download and use the trial version of Lightroom 4.
