I recieved my new 18-135 in the mail yesteday, I will give it a work out next weekend. I went out the back this morning and tested my Minolta 28-105 rs, hand shake, 35-105 original and my new sony on my trypod at 28, 50 ,105 & 135mm focal lengths at wide open, F8 & F13. I am surprised at the results.
While I do dought the acuracy of the focus of minolta lenses on sony bodies the 18-135 out shon the other lenses in almost every settings. On looking at the photos with no zoom the hand shake had better colors but with a little pixel peering the 18-135 was sharper and no color fringing at all.
Considering the faster focusing ability af the sam motor I am stocked with this purchase.
