I shoot landscape/nature, occasionally street and still life and I'm going to be buying a D800 (not E) soon.

I'm hoping to buy a couple of lenses along with it to start my Nikon FX lens collection (the D800 is my first full-frame dSLR and I don't want to use DX lenses and live without using the full sensor.)

Now, one is definitely going to be the Nikkor 50mm f/1.4g which is going to be my on-going lens for the street; and I'm hoping to also buy a wide-angle lens for landscape.

Nikon's brilliant 14-24mm f/2.8g is way out of my price range so I found Tokina's 16-28mm f/2.8 to be a decent alternative: http://www.digidirect.com.au/camera_lenses/tokina/tokina_at-x_16-28mm_f28_pro_fx_lens

Do you have better suggestions (keeping the price range in mind) or would you suggest I go in for something like the Nikon 70-300mm f/4.5 telephoto for now and save up for the Nikon 14-24mm wide-angle later?

Thank you

Samyang 14mm if you do not mind MF. And with something that wide, MF is not really necessary anyway.
