Re: DxOMark comparison of E-PL5, E-M5 and E-P3
In reply to Just Having Fun, 7 months ago

No, I never take much notice of DxO results, I am more interested in various lens test results as lenses last a few years, bodies come and go like crazy.

I was comparing E-PL5 to my E-PL1 hence "better sensor" plus the knowledge that the E-PL5/E-PM2 is a half generation (I suppose) advanced on the E-M5 so I expect slightly better results and better usability than the E-M5 might have provided.

My logic as far as the E-PLx line is that skip two or three models and the update is probably worthwhile every say 3 or 4 years. But if the rumoured E-P5 ticks even more boxes then I will get that (pop-up flash, Oly, are you listening?). Even if I need to wait a year or so longer to see the initial price drop a little and to sync it with an overseas holiday as then we Aussies can also get the 10% tax back on exiting the country.

Anyway, my overwhelming reason is the in the form of being able to assign MySets to mode dial spots. Lovely.

Regards..... Guy
