I've noticed my lenses, 43Ltd, 35-150 etc all were kind of soft in focus when I use autofocus but when I use live view it zooms and my pictures are sharper when I look at them even on the back screen? Is it possible that the autofocus in general does not do as good of a job as when in Live view?

Live view uses contrast AF which measures the sharpness of the image as seen by the sensor and hunts around to find the best solution.   In bright light, it can provide a more accurate focus solution.

IMO, having to do manual micro-focus adjustment should be unnecessary.   There should be an automatic adjustment that uses contrast and phase focus sequentially and adjusts automatically.   Its something that the camera could do in about a second or two.   And its largely something that could be done in code.
