Is it legal to publish a photography book of street photos of New York City.

Thanks for your sensible answer.  The laws are always changing and I wasn't sure if the law, because of the digital age, with almost everyone with cameras and camera phones who are now capable of taking photos of anything at any time had caused new changes in the law.
