Hmm. I haven't really considered the smaller Olympus bodies mainly due to thinking a more rugged camera would be better.

the PENS have proven to be very rugged

Does this camera have other advantages besides it's smaller size?

Not really, although the conventional wisedom is that it has the best IQ of the 12mp sensored cameras (i.e. E-pl1/2/3; E-pm1; G1/2/3; GF-1/2/3/5, GH-1, etc.)

How good is it for video?

Nothing special but with the Panny 14-45mm OIS lens it is as good as any of the Panny's except the GH2 and the more recent 16mp sensored models.  It does have full manual control of video

I need catching up.

Would size be more important for this type of shooting than the other advantages an OM-D E-M5 would have?
