I have not found a time when the camera took a photo before it was focused in focus priority mode but I did your test and it would take a photo out of focus but if I touched the AF on button first it focused perfectly and then I could take a photo. Not sure what that proves except if you set AF on button to only then you need to push that button to get AF to work which is what you should expect?
Am I missing something here? You are wanting to see whether in normal operation the camera will take a shot even out of focus when it was set to focus priority right? How does the above test prove that?
