Red Dot

The red dot grid isn't something limited only to one specific model, I've seen it in several cameras I've owned. Here's an example from my iphone:

That said, when I first saw the photo it looked to me like a pretty standard flare. The advise above is good for avoiding it, but sometimes it's impossible and you'll need to see what you can do to remove it afterward in post.

Maybe some posters here with more postprocessing experience can share their techniques?
