My D-800 may be dead

Thank You all for the replies both the kind and the harsh.

I am aware it was my fault ,and I accept  responsibility for having it along.

I love my D-800 and the images it can do, and a NC mountain stream in the Fall is so photogenic, i can`t imagine using a lesser camera.The river we were on is a gentle one without any rapids, so I felt safe enough.

My friend is away fly fishing all week - he is not a poor man-and I`m glad he`s gone .

I have had time to recover from the shock and blessedly have not seen/ non talked to him since the incident. I did not say anything to him about fault or shared blame nor do I intend to.

Neither will I ask him for anything.

He knows how much I love my camera and if he doesn`t at least show concern,

My disappointment in him will be hard to hide.--
