New camera for 10-year old?

I am selling an EPL2 right now that my son used more than I did. I was perfect for him. Any cheap small M43 camera is great especially if you have M43 lenses for her to play with. The Oly bodies are better than Panasonic because they have in body IS, unless you buy a Panasonic with a kit lens that has IS.

My son, now 13, wants a viewfinder and has been using my GH2. When he was younger he liked the LCD better. As he's gotten older he understand the importance of being stead better so the IS matters less.

That said, my daughter, now 18, who has been using a camera for a while got to high school and wanted a Rebel, it was a status thing. She used an Xsi I sent her off to college this fall for cinema studies with a REBEL 3Xti (which she has named Monte) and it's been perfect. They are using her camera to make their films.

Start small, but once you start this it probably won't end!
