For a cheap prime, you can hardly beat the 40Micro, which has gorgeous bokeh and is razor sharp edge to edge near or far, unlike the 351.8.



That 40Micro sounds awesome.  I think that has to be added at least to my wish list, no matter what else I do.  Has everything on my 'preferred' list (metal mount, manual focus override, etc.).  Sounds like it'd make a great walk around lens, if I wasn't going to use a zoom.

And thanks everyone, for the list of alternative zooms.  I'm going to play some more with the 18-70, and read up on all of those as well.

Of course, any other ideas or merits/disadvantages of those lenses are more than welcome?
