Shot using Samyang 8mm fisheye.
Single exposure.
Green glow is due to light pollution. This is a high ISO shot on the D7000

Tanveer,
That is simply a stunning image. I have a few questions:
Thanks for liking the image
Regarding the lens, what is its wide-open f-ratio? I also have a Samyang 8mm fisheye with f/2.8 max. aperture. I've always shot wide open with ISO 1600 on my Sony NEX-5N, which I believe has the same sensor as your D7000. If the lens is the same or similar, your image gives me reason to up the ISO on my next shots.
BTW I own a NEX 5N too
I used the F3.5 samyang. Bump the ISO to 3200. Infact on my NEX 5N I bumped the ISO to 6400 as I wanted to take a 20sec show with the kit 18-55 at F3.5
With your samyang 2.8, shoot 40 seconds exposure, ISO 3200
Where was this image taken? I'm not familiar with the name Hanle.
Hanle is an observatory in the ladakh region of India(Changthang desert). Its a dark site, at 4200mts above MSL, and has one of the highest number of clear nights in the world!
Also did you employ a tracking mount for that shot? I see some short star trails in the center of your image. But certainly nothing objectionable. If without tracking, your image demonstrates a whole new avenue for wide-field imaging. Thanks for sharing a most enjoyable shot of our home galaxy!
Best Regards,
Russ
No tracking mount. I can go upto 45 seconds with the 8mm without trailing.
I use the 500/X rule. 8mm is 12mm 500/12 = 42. I can go upto 45 seconds without trailing.
