Why am I losing Toolbar ICONS in WinExplorer (XP)

Yes, I realise that, but there seem to be generally a few on here that may well be a little technically minded and as this Forum seems to get a bit more actvity lately I thought it would possibly be a good source.  I did in fact put a copy of the post also on PC Talk at same time - but no better result from that.
