If you would have to choose only 2 (Glasses) - FX.....

This is very easy for me to answer as I use only two lenses religiously, and a third when I have to. I like tight frames, so the 105/2,5 AiS is a favourite lens and on the D800 most of the time, and the 35/2 Cosina Distagon on the other time.

Sometimes I like to go wide and add a 28/2,8 AiS, but generally, I have no need. Those lenses are much smaller/lighter than modern lenses, and focused properly, are every bit as sharp. The 28/105 combo does everything I ever need outside of work. For work, I use generally the 100/2 Makro Planar, though I'm thinking about giving that up for a 45/2,8 pc-e or the 85mm version of the same lens.

Everyone has their favourites and those listed are mine. 35/105 or 28/105. Amazing combo.
