Having a built in flash on cameras with high ISO abilities like the E-M5 and E-PL5 is a bit pointless.

I don't know about you, but my primary use of any flash is to balance light, not to make the entire frame brighter.  High ISO and other ways to change the exposure is used for the latter purpose.

The one in the XE1 has to be the most redundant addition to a camera I've ever seen. Given that all of the above cameras can virtually see in the dark, about the only reason you would need built in flash is if you have shaky hands (which would be a fair reason to need it). some may want it for daytime fill flash, but I prefer a dedicated unit for that.

Another popular use of a flash - in particular, a built-in flash, is to control slaves.  So obviously the "only" reason above doesn't seem to be valid.
