You still remember that bunch of converted Leica M2 slides!  Thank you.  I am impressed.  Actually he used two lenses, the 50mm collapsible f2 and a 35mm "vite vinkel" (AKA wide angle).   The 35 was for when we were in narrow streets and it was impossible to zoom out with our feet.  But it is true that a vast majority of the shots were with the 50mm.

By the way, my gallery of that "around the world in 66 days" slides eventually amassed over 300,000 views, thanks mostly to you guys. I still get the occasional visitor to the site what is about a year later.
