Best time of the day for outdoor panorama 360º?

The same general guidelines apply to 360 degree panoramas as for conventional landscape photography, it's about finding the right light to suit the particular scene. Personally, I prefer to take night panoramas, but you can take them midday if the scene warrants it.

I have lots of examples at 360cities.net. This one in the middle of the day. This one late-afternoon. This one was taken just before sunset. This one  at sunset. This one just after sunset.

Some lenses are more resistant to flare than others. I sometimes take panos with the sun in the frame but usually I try to stand in shadow to avoid any issues. I find that you can get some interesting colours and contrast with night panos.
