I feel that post processing is the main key for images like that. Get Photoshop, calibrate your monitor and learn to optimize your images to get the quality you're looking for. Any decent DSLR and lens from the last several years can give you results that can be tweaked for the kind of image quality you want. Getting that straight from the camera is possible too, but you'd need to change the camera settings for every different lighting situation.
