Do the NEX cameras default to f/4 in S mode and not go wider?

A person at Amazon reviewed the NEX-6 and says that switching to S mode makes the aperture default to f/4 and won't go wider. This seems to be a user problem, and several responses to his post say this, but the poster says the problem has been confirmed by Sony techs and that it's common to the entire NEX line. He also states that in A/P modes, the camera defaults to 1/60 in low-light situations. My hope is that the poster just doesn't know how to use the camera, but he seems to think he can't get a slower shutter speed than this default. See

for the entire post and the responses. I'm thinking about buying the 6, but this is a concern for me.
