I'm ready to move to the Nikon FX line. Is the D4 image more nuanced and lively than the D800?

Thank you ColorTrails for the thoughtful answer.  Yes, I find it interesting that there isn't a full review of the D4.  I think I just have to rent the camera for a long weekend and see how it performs.

I do think Nikon has an unfortunate hole near the top of its product line.  Many of us thought that the large pixel count of the D800 would provide open images similar to a medium format back but it doesn't.  In my humble experience with the D800 its just a bigger file, not a better file.  This is the reason I used wine terms to sort of ask the original question.
