Breaking the Epson 3880 37" barrier with Printfab

The current threads lead me to Printfab, but there were still some lingering questions. I asked Printfab themselves, specifically about the 3880, and they replied, " well, try it and see". Hmmm....not terribly reassuring.
But then, there is a beta version of Prinfab available FREE until 2013.....at which point I assume the beta version will self-destruct and they will ask for $$.
I worked thru the issues and tackled a 60" x16" panorama. That is a lot of paper to committ to an experiment, but it went well. And, my printing-dedicated desktop is running old Photoshop CS (0....or 1....if you will). There appears to be potential to print wider than the 16.5 " 3880 limit....maybe borderless to 17.1"...but I haven't tried that.
The bad news is that I seem to need new printer profiles, still working on those issues.
No, I don't know what the limits might be, and if I hit it someday, it might be due to old PS CS(0)
Sooooo.....one more confirmation that this works for > 38" printing on the 3880.
