Hi all,

I am looking at purchasing a 300dpi image off Getty images for an interior wall print in my office. It says the file is 11x17 (5184x3456 px) 300 dpi. I am wondering how large I will be able to take this file and print. I would like to be able to print in the 30x40 or 40x60 range.

I have personally used my 4mb Nikon D80 jpeg's to print out 40x60 prints and they come out looking great.

I would like to make sure these files are indeed going to work or not since they are quite expensive and I don't have a way to test or try before purchasing.

Thanks for the help!

dlpi = pixels / in

For your biggest size 40x60 this equates to 86.4 dpi. Take one of your photos and print at 86 dpi and see if you like the result. You can crop an image so you can print on a reasonable size sheet of paper.
