What to upgrade from D50?

Dear all,

My D50 is getting old and I think I will grant it the deserved rest.

What do you advise as replacement?

I give emphasis to high iso quality and operation speed like auto focus, fps, etc.

I was thinking about the new D600 but I wander if it is the right choice and if there are other less expensive options.
