One more thing. If you buy the 35mm, I promise you, you'll be looking for a longer lens before you think you would. Then you'll want the terrific 85mm f/1.8 and maybe a 50mm f/1.8. Three great primes but add up the cost before you head down this road, because then of course, you will soon realize you have not really covered the wide end on DX, so you'll need something like the Tokina 12-24, another great lens.  This is an addiction, my friend
