Just about to buy the NEX-6 when....

Well I did buy the NEX6 kit - my very first NEX.  If I want a metal body, lots of MP, for serious landscape and the like, and overall best quality imaging I can get  I will use my D800 or my D3 along with the years of Nikon glass that I have accumulated.  DSLR is my main system and NEX won't change it.

I wanted a small capable camera with a compact lens that I could carry around that still produced high quality images in a wide range of conditions with responsive handling and controls that also allowed use of my Nikon prime lenses and special macro lenses.  To meet this either the NEX6 or the NEX7 would work but the NEX6 does what I need and has some advantages in AF, menus and controls.

Yes - a tough decision but bottom line for me at least:  If you already use DSLR's for most of your work the NEX6 seems to be just fine.  If you do not already use DSLR's and want the best image quality possible from a mirrorless camera - go for the NEX7.
