If you're only going to look at photos on your phone or online phones are great. If you think you will want to make a print, especially of something in low light you will be bummed.

I just recently purchased a sony rx100. I know you don't want to carry a camera at all, but smart phones just aren't 'there' yet.

I recently did a flight over Death Valley (Saline Valley) with the door open in a Cesna. Insanely cool flight. I snapped a few with my phone just for fun in addition to using my d3, d700 and d300s. Decent snap shot but it isn't something you are going to blow up and frame. Native size is about 8x6.

The shot of my dog is from the Sony. Pretty blown away with it's quality. Both shots are straight out of camera. For it's size and quality, tough to beat when you don't want to carry a camera around.

You have clearly demonstrated that there are times when phone cameras and P&S cameras have high value. Nice shots.
