New 50mm lens for my D600

When I bought my 1.4G the 1.8g wasn't even rumored yet.  If I was is the market for one I'd definitely give the 1.8G a good look but they are pretty close in price IMO and for the work I do (portraits, weddings etc.) I still think the 1.4G would probably had been in my bag.

Now I'm in the same boat as you but on the 85mm side.  I own the 85mm 1.8D version and really want to go to the 85mm 1.4G but now that the 1.8G version has came out I'm stumped.  There's a huge price difference just like there was with the D version.  I do know that there seems to be a unexplained glorious difference in the more expensive Nano (gold ring) lenses.  The same difference as in Canon's excellent L lenses.  Too bad Nikon doesn't make a 50/1.2 nano......I'd be selling my kids unused toys to purchase it
