I disagree Focus Peaking (FP) is only more useful when you do video.

When you want to decide on critical sharpness in a scene for stills, FP, isn't that useful at all and the magnified look of both Panasonic and Olympus is much more usefull.

Completely agree!

Focus peaking is the most overrated feature that i know!

The only way to be sure of the focus at100% is magnifying!

By the way I had a sony nex5n before OMD and I know what i'm talking about.

how could you have owned a 5n & not know that the nex also magnifies on top of focus peaking?

peaking is not overrated, especially if you manual focus or focus assist. in low light it is far, far superior to just magnifying a dark blob.

consider also shots you take where you cant stuff your face in front of the lcd, peaking and magnify is superior to just magnify.

peaking is a useful tool. to characterise it as overrated is ignorant at best just because you have no use for it.
