I'm assuming you want a full size tripod realizing there are trade-offs with being lightweight. I use the Cullmann Magic. I believe the latest iteration is the Magic 4.

Here are a few images of how I use it. Because of the way the legs are designed, I'm able to hang my bag on it making it a very stable platform. These images are from a few years back and show a K10D (minus the battery grip) mounted on it.

The one nice thing is that it folds flat and will fit in almost any carry-on piece of luggage.
