After a certain point I don't trade quality/capabilities for a little $-discount. If (WA to short tele)prime, then it should be at least F/2. At f/2.8 you don't have any DOF control with 19mm focal length and the amount of light is only 1 EV more, than for the kitzooms.

OTOH, "traded" quality hurts a lot, if you want to resell your lens, while good stuff always sells well.
