The very first setup I had when I changed to M4/3 which I guess must now be just about 3 years ago - I bought the Pannie GF-1 and was particularly anxious to have with it the 20mm Pancake lens.  That lens was and still is truly excellent - for a VERY compact lens.  Six months or so after, I had an excellent chance to buy the Pannie 14mm Pancake at a great price.. put it on camera and since then the 20mm has hardly been used. The 14mm immediately showed as being both faster in focus and quieter overall in use..THAT is a great lens and too little thought of, I feel sure.  The aperture I find absolutely no restriction with.. since you can still get excellent pics and in less than good conditions..  the Oly 17mm seems far too big and bulky in comparison.. and at least from the modest few "ordinary" type pics given in the samples linked here..I see little or no advantage with it.  To me, it's ugly ..  and most certainly I find NO attraction to it as compared with what I know I can get from the Pannie 17mm.
I suppose much depends on what sort of FL lens people find best suited to them in their own photography .. personally I'd love the Oly 12mm f2...  but at UK prices I'm afraid I find it a bit difficult to fund from my more limited resources.
