Nikon is not going to "own" the dust problem
In reply to Kolen, Nov 15, 2012

They have no idea of how you have taken care of your camera. Some people are pigs. I have picked up other people's cameras and wanted to wash my hands after putting it back down.

Nikon will usually clean your sensor one time but after that you are on your own.  I do not see why they even do it once as you, the owner of the camera, need to clean your own sensor or PAY to have it cleaned. I know that Nikon says it voids the warranty if you clean, but they have no choice. If you damage your camera sensor while cleaning, you did it wrong and you OWN it.

Buy the materials, learn how to use them and clean your own sensor. This forum is an example when DSLRs are getting so cheap that people who buy them do not understand that the sensor will require care.
