D800 File Size for Weddings

I don't think I need the full Res of the D800 for a wedding. Is there a way to put the camera in a lower resolution and still shoot raw? I currently shoot a D700 and the resolution and file size is great for weddings, but it would be nice to switch to a higher Res for portraits.
What camera settings do you recommend for weddings?
