Most of your shots are going to be Wide angle to standard lens for landscapes but i would also take some sort of longer lenes for different perspective the Arrow town,Otago and Church of the good shepherd were taken with 70-300mm at 300mm. These are just a few of the shots i took while visiting my sister who lives on North Island we had a 10 day trip to South Island i only took a basic kit of D300 and 18-70 and 70-300 which was a error on my part thinking of weight issues.
These lenses produced soft images at times and i intend to take my best equipment next time i go down there in a few years time. My opinion is take the best wide, standard, and telephoto lenses you have.
The different type of landscapes that are on offer on South Island are amazing.
Have a great trip Regards, Kev.
