Fine shot Rudy. And yes, squirrels can be difficult at times to idenfity depending on seasonal coloration, size [sans reference], location, and variety.

I do see a painterly effect on its side fur in the original size image:

Since your original image is 3200x2204 - which is not a native FZ200 resolution - can I assume that you've posted a crop? If so, how much cropping was required and from what resolution? And how much did post-processing contribute to this painterly effect? Note that I'm not criticizing the shot - it's rather nice and put a smile on my face - I just want to understand what extremes you may be dealing with here!

[I also wonder why the original image is larger in Flickr than this DPR post - which is 1/4 size at 1600 x 1102. Did you select the LARGE 1600 size when cross-posting from the Flickr gallery?]

You learn something new every time you press the shutter

I thought it looks good when I first saw it. But even at 1600x1200, you can clearly see how poor is FZ200 in resolving detail and it gets worse by this water-color-painting effect maybe due to over-zealous use of NR. This isn't a surprise coz I have seen smeary base ISO results from FZ200.
