Does your xz-1 contantly making focusing sound even if you have not hold the shutter button half way

Hello,

I just got my xz-1 yesterday. I noticed that the camera is always trying to focus, or at least making the focus sound (not the "beep beep" focus locked sound, but more like the clicking sound. as if it's trying to focus), even though i have not pressed the shutter. So if i turn on the camera, no matter which mode (P, A, auto),  just move the camera around, I can hear the focusing mechanism sound. is this normal?
